Official agenda titles, published minutes, and City-linked public recordings are the factual spine. SA Pulse does not rehost video. Timestamp links open the City’s public YouTube recording at the supporting moment.
What qualifies for a brief
Resident-facing meeting and item summaries are prepared from the meeting record. The renderer checks every sentence for a stored timestamp citation. A sentence without a citation is withheld from the public page rather than shown without evidence.
“Supplied summary” labels distinguish this explanatory layer from official agenda language. Shortened agenda headings can improve readability; the full official title remains available on each item.
Transcripts and speaker names
Transcripts are produced automatically and can contain spelling, punctuation, and word errors. Speaker attribution combines meeting-specific rosters, diarization, spoken naming cues, and reference voice matching. When confidence is too low, the speaker remains “Unidentified.” Attribution percentages are a floor, not proof that every unnamed statement came from the public.
Search removes extremely low-signal responses such as standalone “Thank you,” collapses exact duplicates, and ranks phrase, speaker, and agenda-item matches. The index loads only after a reader searches.
Vote status
Approved minutes are the authority for official roll-call votes. Transcript-derived tallies are provisional and must not be presented as official. Minutes are available locally for 169 meetings, but the current public database contains 0 reconciled official votes and 126 provisional votes. Until reconciliation is complete, readers should verify a vote against the approved minutes.
Topics and tracked issues
A controlled set of topic definitions is applied to official agenda titles and cited summary text. Topic tags organize records; they do not claim that a councilmember supports, opposes, or personally prioritizes that subject. Narrow tracked issues are shown separately from broader policy areas.
Current public coverage
The corpus lists every held meeting in years represented by a transcript or brief. A transcript can be public before a resident-facing brief is ready.

The database currently contains 714,740 transcript segments. Missing briefs are a coverage gap, not evidence that a meeting lacked important business.

Email admin@sapulse.org with the page URL, the statement at issue, and the best available source. Corrections are checked against the public recording, agenda, minutes, and stored citations. Material factual corrections will be applied to the page and underlying record; uncertainty will be labeled rather than silently resolved.
